We are still in the middle of winter time, here in the UK. But already its time to start thinking about, the greatest cycling race on the planet. The 2012 Tour De France, one of the toughest sporting events on the sporting calender. Again we have to congratulate last years winner. Australian rider Cadel Evans, it was a really fantastic year for him and his team. And no doubt he will be out to regain the yellow jersey yet again, in 2012. I think Giant Bikes will again be calling the shots for the Rabobank Team , after having some good success with the Giant Tcr, last time out. Continue reading
Staying In The Shade
On a hot summers day, when the sun is at its highest point there is only one place to be,”in the shade”. Where its cool and you can relax and unwind getting away from the hot summer sun. Weather its under a sun shade , or indoors with the Roman Blinds pulled over trying to keep that oppressive heat away, a good set of shades are essential. Fortunately for most of us here in the UK we don’t have to big a problem with the heat. Its usually the other extreme that’s a problem “the cold”. The winters here in the UK have been fairly severe over the last few years. And as usual things just inevitability grind to a halt. Continue reading
Calling Time On The Old Bike
Sometimes, when you have had something for a long time, its really hard to give it up. Especially when that something is your favourite old bicycle, that you’ve owned for a life time, and it also has loads of sentimental value. But sometimes with BMX Bikes you just have to bite the bullet and move on. So where do you go to look for a new bike these days “things have changed slightly since i bought my last bike” twenty years ago. As is the done thing nowadays, instead of heading off to my nearest bicycle dealer i just go into the study and switch on the laptop to do a spot of surfing. This time i fancy one of the new BMX Bikes, from the up and coming German company Cube. Continue reading
